Among Nottingham Trent University’s nominations is THELMAs the DataPoints Merit Award, which recognises institutions achieving high satisfaction ratings for the quality of and access to learning facilities.

For the Guardian University Awards, NTU is shortlisted in the Widening Access Outreach category for its Progression Scheme. The scheme works with 14-19 year olds from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds and aims to increase their chances of being accepted into – and succeeding at – university.

NTU is also nominated in Whatuni Student Choice Awards’ City Life, University Facilities and International categories based on reviews submitted by students across the UK.

“They represent our commitment to creating opportunities for students from a range of different backgrounds from across the world, our excellent teaching, and the quality of our university facilities.”

The University of Nottingham is nominated for two THELMAs, for Knowledge Exchange/Transfer Initiative of the Year and Outstanding Digital Innovation of the Year.

The former recognises a university operating with global vision and ambition, with the institution gaining its nomination for its work with the Dinosaurs of China exhibit. The public exhibition featured 26 Chinese dinosaur skeletons and fossils which previously hadn’t been seen outside of Asia.

The latter nomination recognises the most innovative use of digital technology at a university, with the institution being recognised for its Leadership and Management (LMA) Hub. The digital platform provides an in-depth, integrated and sustainable approach to leadership development across the university.

The University of Nottingham is also nominated for The Guardian University Awards Internationalisation award for its work on Dinosaurs of China. The award aims to reward the most innovative and original initiative in knowledge exchange or transfer.

Dr Paul Greatrix, Registrar at the University of Nottingham, said: “I’m delighted that the University of Nottingham has once again been shortlisted in the THELMAs, as well as the Guardian University Awards.

“Each of these awards recognise excellence in universities – and to be shortlisted is a great recognition of our colleagues’ hard work in creating and managing some fantastic initiatives.”

The THELMAs winners will be announced during aN awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on June 21. The Guardian University Awards winners will be confirmed during a ceremony in central London during the week commencing April 23.
