Q. Are you a regular runner?

A. No, so this challenge will help me to get running more frequently and incorporate running into my training.

Q. How are you honing your training, are you doing anything different in preparation?

A. I haven’t run at all for the last six months so I’m starting training again with some of my colleagues at the County Council.  I had previously followed the NHS Couch to 5K plan which takes absolute beginners that never run, to being able to run 5k in half an hour, so I’ll follow that approach again as it worked well for me last time. Hopefully my fitness level is higher than it was when I did the plan the first time!

Q. Aside from the vigorous training, are there any other ways you are preparing?

A. I’m trying to eat healthily and exercise more, so training for this challenge is giving me a goal to work towards in terms of lifestyle.

Q. Have you got any personal goals to beat?

A.  Taking part in the challenge and running the 1.5 miles will be a personal achievement for me in itself.

Q. Why have you entered the Corporate Challenge?

I wanted to enter so I could join NMB in supporting the Corporate Challenge, which is a great way to bring together Nottingham’s businesses. It is also a fantastic way to raise money for charity whilst getting fitter.

The funds raised by the Nottingham Means Business team will be donated to CityCare, a staff-led enterprise, which works across Nottingham to provide extensive health services specifically in the home but also in health centres across the city.

CityCare gave a high level of service to Jim Taylor, the founder of NMB who sadly passed away earlier this year, to donate to the team please visit: http://www.gofundme.com/cl7auk
