Q. Are you a regular runner?

A. Absolutely not. In fact, I think the last time I took part in a race it was the egg-and-spoon race at school! However, I am planning to start running in preparation and you never know – I might even discover a new hobby.

Q. How are you honing your training, are you doing anything different in preparation?

A. As I’m not a runner I will start by taking a few gentle trots out, possibly with my colleague Catherine from Experience Nottinghamshire who is running the Half Marathon. Once I have completed the distance during training I think I will feel a bit more confident.

Q. Aside from the vigorous training, are there any other ways you are preparing?

A. Well, I am planning to get a spray tan! I’m also going to be investing in a sweatband and some fabulous new trainers. Apart from that I am just planning to have a good supply of water on the day… plus plenty of Jelly Babies for energy.

Q. Have you got any personal goals to beat?

A. I will just be happy if I complete it without keeling over!

Q. Why have you entered the Corporate Challenge?

A. The main reason I entered was to do something challenging, but fun with the Nottingham Means Business team. Experience Nottinghamshire has a great relationship with the business community so it’s a great opportunity to get our brand out there and take part in one of the most exciting events of the year. I’ve heard that the Robin Hood Marathon has a fantastic atmosphere with plenty of people to cheer you on so I’m looking forward to being part to that too.

The funds raised by the Nottingham Means Business team will be donated to CityCare, a staff-led enterprise, which works across Nottingham to provide extensive health services specifically in the home but also in health centres across the city.

CityCare gave a high level of service to Jim Taylor, the founder of NMB who sadly passed away earlier this year, to donate to the team please visit: http://www.gofundme.com/cl7auk
