Richard Whitehead MBE guest speaker at our lunch on 26 September

On 26 September we held our first Nottingham Means Business lunch after the long summer break. It was great to see such great representation from the business community who met at the newly refurbished St. James Hotel.

Richard Whitehead MBE - Nottingham Means Business

Richard Johal, Director welcomed members and guests to the hotel and we were treated to a fantastic lunch.

The lunch was kindly sponsored by Shakespeares and Roger Harcourt gave an introduction to the organisation and the importance of business collaboration for growth in Nottingham.

Stuart Ross from High Growth followed with a overview of GrowthAccelerator and why Nottingham is such a great place to start and grow a business.

David Bishop from Nottingham City Council then explained the work he and his team have been doing in conjunction with Thalej Vasishta (our Interest Group Chair for India) to build business relationships with India. He unveiled a video produced by Skeleton Productions on the initiatives that have been happening to cultivate these relationships.

With a lead in from Paul Southby, NMB Chairman on the ‘be a player’ initiative we were then privileged to have Richard Whitehead MBE talk about the link between sport and business and about his fantastic achievements in the world of athletics.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this such a memorable lunch and please book early for our next lunch at Specsavers in November.
