Hugo Boss sponsors Danh Vo Exhibition at Nottingham Contemporary

Nottingham Contemporary, one of the country’s leading contemporary art galleries, is working with HUGO BOSS. The international fashion and lifestyle group is sponsoring a major exhibition of works by artist Danh Vo.

Danh Võ, who won the HUGO BOSS Prize 2012, is considered to be one of the leading international artists of his generation. This exhibition will be the first major showing of his work in the UK.

Nottingham Contemporary Director, Alex Farquharson said, “We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with HUGO BOSS, and look forward to working with them as the sponsors of this ambitious exhibition in Nottingham.”

The sponsorship forms part of the company’s ongoing involvement and commitment to supporting contemporary art. Stephan Born, Managing Director, HUGO BOSS UK said, “We have a long-standing partnership with the arts and we are delighted to be able to continue this tradition by supporting Võ’s exhibition at Nottingham Contemporary. Given our existing relationship with the artist, this opportunity creates the perfect fit for our arts programme and provides a sophisticated connection with our nearby Nottingham Bridlesmith Gate store.”

Born in Vietnam in 1975, Võ grew up in Denmark after his family fled the Vietnam War in 1979. Using his personal experiences as a starting point, Võ’s installations build bridges between his own life experiences and transnational history, exploring migration, labour and language.

HUGO BOSS is the lead sponsor for the exhibition and is hosting an exclusive business reception at their BOSS Store on Bridlesmith Gate and at the Gallery on Friday 18 July. To find out more contact gareth@nottinghamcontemporary.org.
