As we all now know, the world is currently facing a truly unprecedented challenge. This is a testing time for us all – for individuals, for business owners and for our community leaders.
Inevitably, and despite the difficulties currently being faced by every one of us, individually and as businesses, there are those whose situation is such that they will find it hard to know where their next meal is going to come from, now and in the coming months. However, this is also an opportunity to show what Nottingham does best: to support each other, to co-operate with each other, and to work together to support our great city and its people. In Nottingham we have a famous history of looking after one another, some would call it the spirit of Robin Hood, and that spirit has never been more important than right now.
Greg Nugent, chairman of the Nottingham Board for Culture and Creativity, has set up the Robin Hood Fund to ensure that those most in need are being looked after. Our city has some exceptional projects that already help the neediest in our community, and the Robin Hood Fund will shine a light on these and help ensure they have the funding to continue their work at this incredibly difficult time.
We know this is a terribly uncertain period for businesses but ask that you consider making a contribution of whatever you can to help those most in need – even the smallest contribution can make a huge difference. The spirit of Robin Hood has created something unique in our city and means a lot to Nottingham people. Now is the time to reignite that spirit, so please help today if you can, and if you are unable to make a financial contribution please help us spread the word so that the whole city can stand behind this initiative.
