Min Rose from the Asia Business Centre recognised – a blog by Jason Feehily

Min Rose, Senior Executive at the University of Nottingham Asia Business Centre, was nominated by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sir David Greenaway of the University of Nottingham for the prestigious Mulan Foundation Awards, which honours the achievements of Chinese women in society. Min was commended and received her award for Contribution to Public Service and Community at a formal dinner at The Drapers’ Hall, City of London on Thursday 29 October. This is a truly deserved recognition for Min’s passion and commitment for connecting UK and Chinese businesses and her contribution to society in general.

Min Rose established the Leicestershire-Sichuan Trade Bureau and was a key member of the East Midlands China Business Bureau, which worked with 1,700 East Midlands SMEs who wished to trade with China. Her passion for developing links with China and Asia is unrivalled and has continued with her work with the Asia Business Centre from 2011 at the University of Nottingham.

In her role at the Asia Business Centre, Min has taken a visionary approach in bringing together UK and Chinese businesses, the student body and academics and identifying novel collaborations and opportunities. The ability to develop an idea into an opportunity is extraordinary resulting in exciting and new projects that have put the University of Nottingham at the forefront of UK-China industrial engagement. The University collaboration with Chinese Creative Industries is an example of bringing together talent through our students and academics and matching with incredible growth opportunities in the Chinese creative sector. This looks to be an exciting opportunity for the Nottingham Screen Partnerships in 2015 with China.
