The NMB German Interest Group (GIG) is currently undertaking an intelligence gathering exercise to collate details of all Nottingham businesses with German connections. This includes both Nottingham businesses that are trading with Germany and German businesses that are based in Nottingham.
This is a key objective of the GIG 2015-16 Business Plan. The purpose of this exercise is to identify the strength of this community in Nottingham, bring these businesses together to share best practice and increase opportunities to grow our economy through both trade and inward investment.
Germany is the 5th largest investor of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects in the UK and the 3rd largest creator of FDI jobs growth in the UK (UKTI Inward Investment Report 2013/14). As such, this is a key market for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and one of the priority targets of our international strategy.
