A changing of the guard announced at our May lunch

On Friday 22 May we held our members’ lunch at St James Hotel in Nottingham.

Kindly sponsored by Baker Tilly, over 130 members and guests gathered to hear about the latest developments across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Paul Southby opened proceedings and announced that he would be stepping down as Chairman of NMB with immediate effect, to take on the role of Chairman of Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. This new place marketing organisation for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire will combine tourism, inward investment and business to promote the city and county both nationally and internationally.

Richard King, Office Managing Partner at Baker Tilly, sponsors of the lunch then took to the stage followed by Adam Tamsett from intu who provided an update on regeneration plans for intu Broadmarsh and intu Victoria Centre.

Adam was followed by Ian Curryer, Chief Executive of Nottingham City Council who outlined how Nottingham is moving from a ‘good to great’ city.

Ian invited members to donate to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library initiative that the City Council is involved in, raising over £120. A winner will be drawn at random and will be contacted directly by the City Council to arrange collection of tickets to the Aegon Open.
