TEAM ADAMSONJONES & AIR-IT ON THE RUN FOR CHARITY

Nottingham’s business community is set to go head to head on Sunday 27th September, when companies all around the city are expected to try their athletic abilities – and limits – in the Nottingham Post Corporate Challenge.

Held as part of the annual Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon, the event attracts thousands of entrants each year, including those who come together in teams representing local employers.

Bio-city based Patent & Trademark Attorneys, AdamsonJones will be one of many companies among the competition this year. After being named winners of the corporate challenge in 2013, their staff have regrouped in a bid to make tracks back to glory by joining forces with managed ICT service provider, Air-IT.

Based at Nottingham Business Park, Air-IT will lend five staff to the team including Technical Director, James Healey as well as youngest employee Sean Craven, 17 who joined the company in June as Technical Apprentice.

The team is completed by technical and back office staff including: Alex Cook, Ben Lee and Anxhela Agaci while AdamsonJones call upon their Managing Director, Simon Cooper; Patent Attorney, Chris MacDonald; and Marketing Manager, Rachel Biggin.

The jointly named AdamsonJones & Air-IT Team are now busy preparing for the 13.1 mile half marathon and the shorter 1.5 mile mini marathon, which lie ahead as they attempt to raise vital funds for locally based Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

James Healey, Technical Director at Air-IT says “Our main priority is to have fun and do our charity proud, but I’d be lying if I said we’re not competitive. As a team, we’ve been training hard and aiming for personal bests. We’re hoping it’s enough to put us up there with the best teams, but we won’t know that until the day. Whatever happens we’re pleased to be running and giving back to the local community with Nottingham Hospitals Charity.”

On the day, speed and endurance will decide whether the team have done enough to win, when their quickest two times in each race are put together for the final scoring process.

Last year’s winners were city centre based legal firm, Shoosmiths, who celebrated success with a combined time of just three hours, 18 minutes and 42 seconds.
