NMB inspires ‘Team Inspire’ – a blog by Freddy Hoare

We are four Nottingham Trent Business School students participating in an IOD entrepreneurial project for the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre. Starting with only £10 we have 20 days to make as much money for charity as possible.

We started by creating a JustGiving donation page and encouraged people to donate through social media and have so far made more than £300 this way. Please find the link below – we are extremely grateful for any support:

Our main idea is to create an advertising flyer with a professional graphic designer and distribute these to 5,000 students in hard copy as well as e-posters on social media. So far we have given sales pitches to Nottingham high street businesses and secured an investment from Adventure Golf and Yates. Other interested businesses include Wok & Go, Squares, Suede Pizza Bar, PeachyKeens and The Bead Shop. So far so good and we are on track to make £1,000 through this advertising campaign alone!

We are enjoying this opportunity to be entrepreneurs although it is challenging, and this is our first time having a go at a project like this. We are very grateful to be supported by Nottingham Means Business and personally mentored by Simon Gray.

Team Inspire

We would appreciate any donations towards our effort please, not only to win the challenge, but to be in a position to donate as much to the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre as possible.
