Chinook Sciences Ltd has won the Institution of Engineering and Technology Power and Energy Award for its world-leading Advanced Thermal Treatment Technology.
25th November 2015 – Nottingham, UK – Chinook Sciences, the leading renewable clean-tech group, has won the prestigious Institution of Engineering and Technology Innovation Award. The IET Award for the year’s most outstanding innovation in Power and Energy recognises Chinook’s achievement in successfully developing and deploying the latest generation of its proprietary technology at the energy from waste plant at Oldbury in the West Midlands.
The IET Innovation Awards celebrate the very best innovations in science, engineering and technology and are judged by panels of leading international experts. Over 300 entries were received from 28 countries across the world. The judging panel commented of Chinook’s Award:
“Chinook technology has made a significant advancement in the area of metal recovery and energy production. This has had an exceptional impact on the environment, renewable energy and society in both a commercial and sustainable way. Chinook technology recovers more energy than any existing technologies.”

The awards event took place on Thursday 18th November at the Brewery in London and Chinook emerged as winner in the Power and Energy category, beating strong competition from a very impressive shortlist of other finalists.
