Gloworm Festival Nominated for Four Festival Awards!

The Gloworm Festival, which debuted in August 2016, has been nominated in four separate categories for this year’s Festival Awards.

Nominated for ‘Best Medium-Sized Festival’, ‘Best New Festival’, ‘Best Family Festival’ and ‘Best Toilets’, Gloworm achieved great success in its first year attracting over 16,000 people to the event over a two-day period, with many attendees also choosing to camp over.

Headlined by children’s TV stars ‘Dick and Dom, who provided a DJ set and entertainment on stage, as well as Toploader, who provided the parents with some nostalgic moments throughout their set, the festival got children, parents and Grandparents all dancing at once.

Peppa Pig, Ben and Holly, Mr. Bloom and Thomas and Friends all made appearances at the festival doing a range of meet and greets for the young Glowormers to enjoy. With a petting zoo by White Post Farm and multiple other entertaining zones the festival certainly had something for everyone!

Andy Whyles, Event Organiser at Gloworm said: “We are absolutely delighted to be up for these awards alongside some of the biggest festivals in the UK. The first year of the festival went extremely well and we have already started planning for 2017 to make sure it surpasses this year’s success!”

The Gloworm Festival received great feedback from all the sponsors involved as well as the general public, with 88% of people who reviewed the festival on social media sites giving the festival upwards of 4 stars.

Chris Kurylec, Local Marketing Specialist at IKEA Nottingham stated “We were headline sponsors for the Gloworm Festival this year. IKEA is all about families and family fun and that’s why the Gloworm Festival is head and shoulders above all the other events that go on at the moment.”
