Hear for yourself what our Members think of Nottingham Partners

Jon Enever, Chief Client Officer, Gleeds

Gleeds originally joined Nottingham Partners as a result of a long standing relationship we have with Invest in Nottingham. The relationship led to the late, great Jim Taylor inviting me to be on the board of Nottingham Means Business. It was an opportunity that I jumped at, to be able to work collaboratively with influential business leaders to promote Nottingham as a destination and a city within which to do great business. As the brand developed into Nottingham Partners it was a no-brainer for Gleeds to continue its involvement.

What have the benefits of joining Nottingham Partners been?  There are too many benefits to list, but fundamentally if the city is doing well the businesses located within it can only benefit. Nottingham Partners strives to futureproof the economic prosperity of the city. The relationships that are developed help to drive local opportunities, with like minded people who have the wellbeing and future legacy of the city at the heart of their strategic thinking.

Would you recommend Nottingham Partners to other businesses? Yes, in a heartbeat.

Stephen Mason, Managing Director, Mason Infotech

Mason Infotech have been a member of Nottingham Partners for over 5 years now. We will be sponsoring our second lunch and will be looking to make this part of our annual plan going forward.

Attending the networking events is a must for us. The topics presented at the lunch are always relevant to the local business community and promote networking in a relaxed and positive environment. We have many clients and prospective clients who are members and more recently, have gained a number of new suppliers directly through the networking events.

We will certainly remain committed to Nottingham Partners going forward.

Mark Wood, Office Location Head, Nottingham Corporate Commercial Group, Eversheds Sutherland LLP

We recognise that as a Global International Law firm and a local business ourselves, that we have a responsibilities to all our local business communities to offer, support, assistance and business partnering to fulfil our firm purpose of assisting our People, our Clients and our communities to thrive in all areas that we operate.

We intend to fulfil that purpose through our daily endeavours, but also through forums such as Nottingham Partners that offer us a platform to fulfil that role within our own local community here in the Eversheds Sutherland Nottingham office.

Neil Harrison, Associate Director, Arup

Being a member of Nottingham Partners connects and aligns our business with Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We have been a member for several years and use our membership to maintain relationships with clients and collaborators in the city and county.

By being a member, we gain access to good local events that are very professionally run with some great speakers. These events are always good for networking and catching up with friends in the local business community, as well as key figures in the public sector. The professional nature of the events means that we are proud to be connected to these as sponsors.

John Read, Associate Director, Arup

We have been members of Nottingham Partners since 2017, and before that, Nottingham Means Business from early 2014 – 2017 and the Invest in Nottingham Club before that.

As well as access to events, it gives us the opportunity to present and sponsor, as we have done on a number of occasions during our membership, including for instance an event on our HS2 involvement that we presented back as early as 2012, through to the event that we sponsored and presented at in July 2018, and the event that our Alex Jan (chair of London Midtown bid) will be presenting at in May this year.

The connections and conversations that take place at Nottingham Partners events are a valuable addition to the business and construction industry community in our city.

Richard Flisher, Managing Director, CPMG

cpmg is a longstanding member of Nottingham Partners, having joined in 2012, we joined because we are a Nottingham based business, we like it here and we wanted to be a part of an organisation that is dedicated to ensuring that Nottingham continues to thrive.

Being a member makes us feel at the heart of the business community in Nottingham and it keeps us well informed about developments in the city, both in the private and public sector; this is important to us as we work equally in both sectors.

To be more specific:

  • The networking lunches are good events and we have made useful new contacts at them and at other Nottingham Partners events.
  • The Nottingham Partners staff are enthusiastic, approachable and well informed about areas of business that are relevant to us.
  • For many years now we have been pleased to sponsor Nottingham Partner’s annual campaign at MIPIM, we do this because we think it is right that Nottingham is represented at this event and because we benefit from the Nottingham Partners MIPIM events and other support that it provides to us.

Paul Norbury, Partner, PwC

The East Midlands economy continues to outperform many other UK regions and this prosperity is testament to the strength of our business community. As a major employer and stakeholder in the region, we absolutely support and share the vision of Nottingham Partners to work with organisations to promote and boost Nottinghamshire and Nottingham’s economy.

Thal Vasishta, Group Chief Executive Officer, Paragon Law

Paragon Law have been members of Nottingham Partners since 2012. Our membership has proved to be beneficial in many ways, for example, I particularly enjoy the lunches which gives me the opportunity to meet with likeminded business owners and professionals in Nottingham. There is always a good range of guest speakers who tend to be leaders in their filed giving insights on their industry and sector – a great way to learn about matters outside of one’s own day to day “bubble”.

Nottingham Partners are particularly good at bringing people who are involved shaping the direction of the city and give members the opportunity to shape and debate the direction around this. Like any organisation or networking group you will get what you put in to Nottingham Partners.

Gemma Morgan-Jones, SME Engagement Manager, The University of Nottingham

I just wanted to say thank you for continuing to organise these great events. It’s really helpful to be able to hear directly from our city’s leaders and remain connected during this time. You guys are doing such a professional job – your sessions are always SO well organised! You run things so smoothly (or at least it always looks smooth from the outside!) and the content is always really interesting and pitched at just the right level. I know how hard that is and I just wanted to say it’s really appreciated.

Looking forward to seeing you guys in person again one day, but until then keep going! You are delivering a great service.
