University of Nottingham Breakfast

Thank you to all our members that joined us today at the University of Nottingham Breakfast event at the Winter Gardens on their Jubilee Campus. We were delighted to collaborate with the University to inform out business network of the achievements and opportunities happening across the organisation.

The University of Nottingham is a world-class, Top 1% University, has more than 45,000 students and is the 2nd most targeted University by top UK employers. The University has several campuses across the county and internationally, and is ranked the 8th best University for Research Power in the UK.

We heard from Leonie Mathers the Deputy Director of advocacy who set the scene for the University and illustrated the important role both the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University play in the regions economic landscape.

We heard a key note speech from Phil Williams the Professor of Biophysics, Faculty of Science APVC for Research and Knowledge Exchange, Faculty of Science. He emphasised how Research & Development underpins the regional economy.

The University Showcase offered insights into different areas of the university and the work they do behind the scenes. This included presentations from; Ben Sumner on Net Zero, Nick Proverbs about the Business School, Professor Sarah O’Hara, CEO of University of Nottingham Online, and we rounded to morning off with Dr Hannah Prydderch who delved into the different KTP opportunities.

It was great to be joined around the room by so many different university colleagues from different faculties who were able to speak to our ever growing network of businesses.

We were very pleased with the amazing turn out this morning and we hope everyone who joined us found the event insightful.

We hope to to see you all soon!
