Collaboration for Nottingham’s growth – a blog by John Proctor

The reshaping of Nottingham’s retail centres and the evolution of the long awaited business district have been central to property focused discussions over the past decade.

Intu’s drive and ambition to revitalise both the Victoria Centre and the Broadmarsh and proposals to bring forward exciting new office schemes, particularly Peel Holdings’ Unity Square development opposite the Nottingham Station, are fast evolving.

We need collectively to ensure that we drive these schemes over the line as we approach 2015 – the year in which interest rates will click, the election will occur and at a time when the Eurozone is stressed and there is huge global uncertainty focused on the instability in the Middle East.

It is in our hands.  We have talked about it for so long.  It needs a collective effort from all of us to work constructively and cohesively to enable Nottingham to land and deliver these cornerstones from which we can look to reposition Nottingham’s perception as a forward thinking cosmopolitan regional city.
