LDC

LDC is a trusted investment partner for ambitious management teams across the UK.

As part of Lloyds Banking Group, our scale, experience and relationship-based approach help to add long-term value to the businesses we back. We’ve partnered with hundreds of companies across a wide range of sectors over the past 40 years, helping them to grow and develop.

In the East Midlands, we’ve invested almost £500m during that time to help more than 35 management teams to achieve their ambitions. And from our office in Nottingham, we continue to support businesses right across the region – from Derby to Lincoln and Nottingham to Northampton.

Our current portfolio in the East Midlands is diverse. It spans technology, business services, industrials and consumer, and we’re working closely with management teams to help them grow their business organically, through acquisition or international expansion.

Some of our recent investments include partnerships with the management teams at Bedford-based Stonbury, the leading UK water and environmental sustainability specialist, and Blis, a global programmatic advertising company. We’ve also supported leading leisure and residential marina operator Aquavista to acquire Castle Marinas and The Edwin Group’s acquisition of Commando Joes and Llama.id.

We take a flexible approach to our private equity partnerships and this enables management teams to retain control of their business, while having access to the investment, strategic and operational support that will help them to grow their company.

Some of our recent exits have followed significant periods of growth for our portfolio companies. This includes exiting Derbyshire-headquartered Forest Holidays following a successful 10-year partnership, during which we helped the management team to roll out five new locations and supported its sustainability strategy. We also exited Nottingham-headquartered Littlefish following a successful three-year partnership, during which the leading IT Managed Services provider tripled EBITDA and increased headcount by 270.

We’re also passionate about playing our part in the communities in which we operate and we’re currently funding and volunteering at local food banks across Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Cambridge and Norwich to help more families get through the cost-of-living crisis.
