Geldards’ Family Law Solicitor awarded Nottinghamshire Law Society’s ‘Solicitor of the Year’

Geldards is proud to announce that family law solicitor Natalie Haydon-Yeung has been awarded the prestigious ‘Solicitor of the Year’ award at Nottinghamshire Law Society’s glittering Annual Awards Dinner.

The awards, which took place at East Midlands Conference centre at the end of April, are the main event in the Society’s calendar attended by the great and good of the legal world.

The hotly contested Solicitor of the Year Award is presented to someone who has consistently shown outstanding performance in their role, excellence in their legal work, fostered the development of their colleagues and developed an outstanding business initiative within their firm.

Natalie joined Geldards’ Family team almost a decade ago and deals with a full range of family matters.  She is highly experienced dealing with high-net worth financial settlements and has significant experience dealing with complex children matters.

One of Natalie’s passions is providing support and advice to Hong Kong nationals settling in the UK.  Drawing on her Chinese heritage and her interest in the UK’s visa system for Hong Kong British National Overseas, she established a dedicated team, including professional advisors, to offer support to help citizens relocating from Hong Kong.   She regularly promotes this specialised service within the wider Chinese community.

A long-standing advocate for Widening Participation in Law, Natalie has worked with both the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University supporting students from disadvantaged background to enter the legal sector and championing diversity in law.

On presenting the award, Stephen Luke President of the Law Society said:

“Natalie is a respected and highly competent family law solicitor whose commitment, capability and enthusiasm are second to none. She has a focused and strategic approach to business development and is a key team player and incredibly supportive to junior members of the team.

Fiona Apthorpe, Partner and Head of the Family team said:

“Natalie works incredibly hard and demonstrates enviable commitment to client service. She has a confident manner which puts clients at their ease and deals pragmatically but sensitively with emotional matters.

I am proud to have Natalie in my team. She is a credit to herself, the team and the firm. Congratulations on receiving this well-deserved award.”
