Nottingham is pleased to welcome Sn-ap Travel Technology Ltd as a new inward investor. They have big growth plans and are thrilled to be here. We asked Marcus Standish, General Manager to explain the decision to come to Nottingham:
Who are Sn-ap?
Sn-ap is a new on-demand coach service, that lets passengers go from anywhere to anywhere, for pocket money prices. Why travel to a bus station when you can be picked up at the bottom of your road? By partnering with independent high quality coach companies and allowing them to put spare capacity to work, Sn-ap can offer fantastic prices to would-be travellers.
With nationwide expansion plans, the big question was: where to begin? We chose Nottingham for four main reasons.
1) Support:
Firstly, is the notable business network and support. It didn’t take us long to realise there’s a fantastic business community in Nottingham. We quickly caught wind of Nottingham Means Business, which has a whole lot to offer and were also introduced to Invest in Nottingham. Both are helping Sn-ap get established in the area and have been instrumental in connecting us with businesses and contacts in Nottingham. We’ve also been connecting with universities in the area who are providing a lot of support to the business and helping us find talented graduates to take on board.
2) Students:
Nottingham is renowned for its massive student population. Students are ideal customers for Sn-ap because they travel a lot, normally to and from home multiple times a year, and also tend to have friends all over the country they want to visit. They are time rich and cash poor, and have yet to adopt set travel patterns and habits. The ‘Uber’ generation are also more adaptive and happier to adopt new technologies.
3) Travel alternatives:
Nottingham has one of the best local networks in the country with trams and buses running frequently, affordably and reliably, and we saw an opportunity to provide convenient and cheaper travel when it comes to intercity. Judging by Sn-ap’s popularity we chose right!
4) A great place to live:
Lastly, but by no means least Nottingham is quite simply a fantastic place to live! Being based over in West Bridgford, there’s loads of activities, nightlife and spectator sport to see, and it’s a fantastic community to be a part of. I highly recommend it as a place to be based.
