Retail and brands discussed at our January lunch

A big thank you to members and guests who attended last week’s Nottingham Means Business (NMB) lunch at St James Hotel in Nottingham city centre.

Kindly sponsored by Gateway Plc attendees received an update on Nottingham’s retail offering and the new place-marketing organisation for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

It was also an opportunity to welcome 10 new guests to NMB – Ultratalent, NSPCC, Status Social, Quadrant Events, Cleggs Solicitors, Oxford Innovation, Maraq, Sn-ap, True Story and The White Hills Park Federation Trust.

We also welcomed a number of guests, including Marcellus Baz BEM from Switch Up who was the winner of the Unsung Hero award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2016 and received the British Empire Medal in the New Year Honours.

Our sponsor, Andy Matthews from Gateley Plc welcomed everyone and showcased Gateley Plc’s Nottingham presence. We then heard from Nigel Wheatley from intu with an update on the way forward for Nottingham city centre and specifically the Broadmarsh redevelopment.

Brendan Moffett, CEO, MN&N then provided an update on the new narrative for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and the way forward to put the city and county firmly on the map.
