Switch UP commits to doing even more to tackle youth crime

Nottinghamshire charity Switch Up, which provides mentoring, counselling and training to deter young people from violence, crime and anti-social behaviour, is growing both its team and its regional partnerships to achieve even more in 2023.

Founder and CEO Marcellus Baz recently announced the organisations partnership with the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation to combine forces and do more to tackle knife crime in the Midlands after being invited to speak about Switch Up’s mission at the St George’s Park National Football Centre in Burton-upon-Trent.

With April marking 30 years since Stephen Lawrence’s tragic murder, the event included a memorial football match between Police Sport UK (PSUK) women’s football team and the SLD Foundation women’s team – helping to build stronger relationships between police and communities.

The Switch Up team also continues to grow to meet this demand for its expertise. It is currently hiring for three full time, permanent roles to boost Switch Up’s presence and drive campaigns forward.

  • Programme Manager – £30-£35,000 p/a – responsible for delivering our company strategy, ensuring excellent levels of regulatory compliance and reporting, and inspiring the team.
  • Grand Funding Development Manager – £30-£35,000 p/a – a focus on bid writing and relationship building, to continue generating income and help the charity grow.
  • Marketing Executive & Partnerships – £26-£30,000 p/a – perfect for a strong communicator, the right person will effectively engage with wider audiences through a variety of marketing channels.
